A China Experience with Hong Kong
12 days from Shanghai to Hong Kong.
Delve into the unique world of China during this magnificent Globus vacation and visit Beijing, Xi’an, Guilin, and Shanghai. As you’d expect, a tour highlight is your visit to the Great Wall of China. Known as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, it is the only man-made object that can be seen from space by the naked eye. As you walk along the wall, see how expansive it is and imagine what it was like to construct the wall—at a time without modern machinery to help!
Natural beauty abounds in Guilin as needle peaks of limestone mountains rise from the green plain surrounding the Li River. Your included cruise will bring these unique vistas to life. You will also visit a local tea farm to learn how tea is made and partake in a tea ceremony.
Discovered accidentally in 1974, the Terracotta Warriors—consisting of roughly 8,000 soldiers, chariots, and horses—were constructed to help China’s first emperor in the afterlife. Other highlights include a music and dance performance from the Tang Dynasty, which reigned over 1,000 years ago; a rickshaw ride through one of Beijing’s hutongs, the city’s ancient alleys; and a traditional Peking duck dinner.
History, cultural immersion, and amazing sights await you on this fascinating journey through China!
