The company vision of Crystal Cruises is crystal clear, and there are a lot of exciting new things happening with this cruise line! Crystal is a luxurious 6- star cruise line, that offers exceptional value. Here is a little update on the evolution of Crystal luxury including new shorter itineraries, re-imagining of their ocean ships, their new river ships, yachts, and their private jet!
Crystal Cruises is now offering new shorter getaway voyages to give their guests more flexibility. The Symphony ship has a 6- day getaway from London to Bordeaux in August, as well as a 6 day from Bordeaux to Lisbon. The Symphony has a 4- day Dubai to Abu Dhabi sailing, a 13-day Abu Dhabi to Port Louis itinerary, and an 8- day Mahe to Port Louis sailing in November. In December, you can sail from Port Louis to Maputo for 7- days, or Maputo to Cape Town for 6- days, giving you more options for shorter segments. What great little getaways!
The Serenity ship is now offering 8- day sailings from Fort Lauderdale to the Barbados and 6- days from the Barbados to Charleston in 2017.
Both Ocean ships are getting a major re-furbishing. Crystal calls it the “Evolution of Luxury”, or a re-imagination. The re-imagination of the Crystal Symphony will happen September 19th – October 21st, 2017 and they will be adding 12 new suites and 28 new penthouses on this ship. The Crystal Serenity will be re-imagined October 14th – November 10th, 2018, and will gain 2 new suites and 36 new Penthouse staterooms.
All the suites will be expansive and gorgeous, and will include butler service. There will be two new suite categories, and they are the Seabreeze Penthouse Suites with Veranda, and Seabreeze Penthouses with Veranda. Bathtubs are being replaced with luxury showers that include body jets.
After the dry-dock, the ships former Crystal Dining Room will now be called the Waterside, and will feature “open dining”. The former Lido Café will be called Marketplace by day, and Churrascaria by night. The former Silk Road restaurant will become Umi Uma, which means sea horse in Japanese. The former Tastes restaurant will become Silk, offering Chinese-inspired alfresco dining. Prego will have new enhanced menu offerings, but no name change.
Crystal Cruises is expanding into the river cruise market, and their first ship the Mozart, started sailing in 2016. The Bach and Mahler are debuting this year (2017). The Crystal Debussy will debut in April of 2018, and the Crystal Ravel will debut in May of 2018.
Crystal’s luxurious river ship the Mahler, debuting in the fall, is now offering 7 and 9-day sailings from Amsterdam to Nuremberg and Nuremberg to Budapest (and reverse) for November and December in 2017. On the Mahler, everything is included, and all suites have butler service, and are above the water level.
In 2018, Crystal Cruises will have 4 new river voyages that offer enriching opportunities for their guests. One is called the Danube Serenade, and on April 24th you can sail with the President of Crystal – Edie Rodriguez. The April 10th sailing will be hosted by Nancy Brinker a former U.S. Ambassador to Hungary, and founder of the Susan Komen foundation.
On May 1st, there is a special Jewish Heritage Cruise being offered, which is 11 days long, and sails from Vienna to Budapest. It is called Reflections of the Danube. These special itineraries are proving to be very popular, so if they are of interest to you, call us soon.
On the new river ships, the Bistro is open all day long, and Palm Court is a cocktail lounge with beautiful glass ceilings. Waterside is the main dining area, and the name will match that of the Ocean ships, after they complete their dry-dock re-imaginations.
Along with Ocean and river cruising, Crystal Cruises has a new yacht called the Crystal Esprit. It has 31 luxuriously appointed suites, and offers unparalleled amenities for only 62 pampered guests.
The Esprit has a marina platform on the back of the ship, and there is complimentary snorkeling, kayaking, jet skiing and paddle boarding. There is also a 2- passenger submarine, that you can pay for as an extra excursion, to have a very special thrilling experience.
But wait, there is still more! Crystal Cruises is also building a polar class ship called the Crystal Endeavor which will debut in 2019. This will be an expedition yacht ship complete with 2 helicopters, 2 submarines that can hold 7 people, and 8 zodiacs.
The Crystal Endeavor will also have SEABOBs, which are powerful underwater scooters. This ship will have 100 suites and will be the most spacious and largest mega yacht afloat.
Crystal Cruises has a customized Boeing 777, Crystal Skye, available for charter as well. Crystal Skye is a luxurious privately-owned jet that includes handcrafted Welsh flatbed sleeper seats, a full- service bar with lounge seating, and Michelin-inspired cuisine served by an attentive Crystal Skye butler!
